Climb Mount Kilimanjaro

Marangu Route: 5 days 4 nights (accommodation in huts) 

Day 1

Depart from Arusha or Moshi. The route starts at the Marangu main gate at 1800m to Mandara hut at 2750m. You will cross the rain forest. Walking time will be about 3-5 hours.

Day 2

After breakfast leave Mandara hut ascending through the open alpine scrub. After 5-7 hours (about 12 km) you reach Horombo Hut at 3750m.

Day 3

In the morning you leave Horombo Hut continue climbing towards Kibo Hut. You walk between Kibo and Mawenzi. The Kibo Hut at 4700m is reached in 5-6hours.

Day 4

Wake up at midnight, you have an energy drink and start climbing the Uhuru Peak (5895m). Enjoy a spectacular and unforgettable sunrise. After a rest you start to descend to Horombo hut, which will take 6-8 hours.

Day 5

After breakfast start slowly to descend to Marangu gate. There you will be picked and transferred to the hotel in Arusha or Moshi.  

Note: 1 (one) extra day for acclimatization is possible.
